While I do not believe in the “great man” theory of history, the past few years have strongly led me towards the “huge idiot” theory of history. Good things are the product of sustained combined effort, changes in group thinking, and reacting to shifting circumstances. But one dumbass in power can fuck the world through sheer incompetence.
somehow instead of saying “as a treat”, I’ve started using the phrase “for morale”, as if my body is a ship and its crew, and I (the captain) have to keep us in high spirits, lest we suffer a mutiny in the coming days.
and so I will eat this small block of fancy cheese, for morale. I will take a break and drink some tea, for morale. I will pick up that weird bug, for morale.

i have naturally acidic sweat. it’s a family thing
we have already. They don’t know exactly what is up with it, other than the sweat being slightly more acidic than normal and the acidic mantle being thicker and Way more acidic than normal, but it doesn’t seem to have anything to do with acidosis. As far as we have tested, our family has had this since at least my great grandpa, and the guy lived to be 93 years old.
